Part 6
As I awoke from the deep slumber, I could feel that the day before had taken its toll, a general feeling of exhaustion was making its presence known, but I didn’t need blood, that craving had already been satisfied, as I could see from the head by my feet, the arms in his mouth, and the legs located in… well, let’s just say that they were enormously close to the torso. I couldn’t remember in which order the atrocities had taken place, but I hope for him, that he died first, and the removal of various body parts, and following insertions, were done after.
As explained, the murder of the by passer who saved me, but doomed himself, was made quite messy by the beast, so it was time for me to do one of my first cleanings. Like all first tries, it wasn’t quite the success one would want it to be, and definitely took longer than it should, but it got the job done. The disposal of the less intact human was made rather simple by his dog, which didn’t seem to mind being feed his former owner, as long as he had food. He was a happy dog – right up until I snapped his neck and buried him in the forest. The bones were quite simple, since they could be crushed with my improved strength, and scattered over the floor.
Time to get my alias up and running. I had never acquired any special skills, except for my super speed, strength and molding of shadows, which would certainly impress the locals, but also lead to the abrupt ending of my unlife.
I had two choices: farming, which could be difficult because of the pesky sun, and working for someone, who would be willing to pay me for working solely by night. The second option had the lack of sun, which, by default, made it the obvious choice, and the only choice.
As I went through the city asking various shop owners if they had any nighttime work available, I found one, which coincidently had need for someone who could make sure no one broke into the store when he wasn’t there, and since the last one who had the job didn’t show up last night, it just became available. (Thank you, unlucky pedestrian, for both your house and your job.) I was told that I was to start that night. Perfect.
I showed up a little while after sundown, (oddly enough,) and the owner was quite pleased with my timing. As he left, I felt good. I had successfully gotten a job, and it was one where I had to basically sit and relax all night… or so I thought. The same night I was hired, there were people breaking in. As I was beating one of them with his own hand, (no it was still attached to his body – why would that be your first assumption?… You’re sick…) he kindly let me know that he would generously share all his weapons and money with me, if I would “please! please! Stop!” – I accepted his offer – by taking all his items after I broke his neck. That act made the other guys run. All of whom I found within a few minutes, and killed within seconds.
The day after, all the robbers were gone, (after another cleaning,) and the owner was none the wiser. The next days passed with no theft or disturbances to note of.
All those quiet nights were devoted to training the abilities I had gained since my turning.
